PTME RELEASES
ITS SECOND CD:
Everybody Oughta Have One
by Lucky Thompson’s DNA
and
REMIX and MASTERED of ITS FIRST ONE: ALFIE
by Alfie Pollitt and the All Stars
Philly Through My Ear Recording Label and Productions,
Inc. (PTME) released its second CD, as the first one,
in the jazz tradition of this great music venue, Philadelphia.
Lucky Thompson, Philly’s dynamic percussionist, has
put together a quintet of exceptional musicians, including
Umar Raheem on saxophone, Jeff Knoettner on keyboards, Tony
Smith on trumpet, and Lee Smith on bass that performs 10 original
compositions. According to the bandleader, “this CD
is very versatile and can appeal to a wide listening audience:
people who are jazz traditionalists, smooth jazz listeners,
and there is even one tune for those who like contemporary
gospel.” Although a predominately instrumental CD, Warren
Cooper of WRTI – FM 90.1 provides vocals on Jeff Knoettner’s
The Prowler, and Umar Raheem on his own tune Imani’s
Passion.
PTME's first product, entitled Alfie, consisting
of 10 original compositions by renowned pianist Alfie Pollitt,
has been remixed and mastered. This time on the inspirational
track, “The Divine Light,” Alfie is joined
by bassist Mike Boone and drummer Eddie Jones.
All the musicians and the producer are available for interviews.
